As I watch the dew, frozen in white winter morn,
The Smokey fog curtains me from the blue sky,
The boundless sky knows few limits,
But alas! My sight fails the view,
The view of the blue sky and rising sun,
Hidden behind earthly fog or heavenly cloud,
But yet beauty of rose could not escape,
Escape the glance of a selfish admirer.
Though even a huge mountain is unseen,
A wet rose seems near, near even to my soul.
So my admire also respects the intimacy, the distance,
And as my judgment is ruled by pure heart and prudent mind,
A distant friend is unseen lie,
And a stranger is comfort of unspoken truth,
Distance rekindles the mind to forget, which fails to forgive,
And heart refuted by mind finds a lover, a lover whom I trust,
Trust which is endowed on things nearer,
But fails to bond with distant friends.
